The challenge of increasing trade union membership is relevant for union organizations worldwide. The draft for the law "On Platform Employment" was approved during a general meeting of the Standing Commission on Economics and Finance of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS. "Youth of the CIS – For Higher Wages!" has been selected as the official slogan by the Youth Council of the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU) for its participation in the World Day for Decent Work on October 7, 2025. The decision was approved at a regular meeting of the Youth Council held on September 30. For the Day of Action, the GCTU Youth Council participants plan to launch a media campaign across social networks. Materials featuring the slogan and photographs of campaign participants will be published on the pages of trade union leaders and within trade union communities.

ILO Experts Clarify the Classification of the Self-Employed and the Term “Dependent Contractors”
The International Labour Organization (ILO) has published clarifications regarding the use of the term “dependent contractors”, providing a precise definition of this employment category.
“Dependent contractors are workers who maintain contractual relationships of a commercial nature (but not an employment contract) to provide goods or services to another economic unit, or through it. They are not employees of that economic unit, but they depend on it for the organization and performance of their work, for their income, or for access to the market. These are workers engaged with the aim of generating profit, but who rely on another organization that controls their productive activities and directly benefits from the work they perform,” the ILO experts explained. -

ruID: New Rules for Labor Migrants Entering Russia

В России утверждена Стратегия действий по реализации семейной и демографической политики и поддержке многодетности до 2036 года, сообщается на портале правительства РФ. Главным инструментом реализации стратегии будет национальный проект «Семья».
