Kyrgyzstan Celebrates 120 Years of the Trade Union Movement
A ceremonial event dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the trade union movement in Kyrgyzstan was held on October 24. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan (FTUK), Muratbek Dzhumadildaev uulu, labor veterans, representatives of FTUK's sectoral committees, youth organizations, and public figures.
In his address, FTUK Chairman Muratbek Dzhumadildaev uulu emphasized, "The trade union is a force that unites working people. For 120 years, the trade unions of Kyrgyzstan have been a reliable pillar for workers, protecting their rights and interests. Today, we continue this noble mission by strengthening justice and respect for the working individual."
Participants at the event noted the increased activity of FTUK at the local level and the development of dialogue with youth. The openness and effectiveness of trade union structures have been enhanced.

June 30, Dushanbe, Tajikistan – The work on developing model labor legislation within the CIS format was discussed during a meeting between Viktor Pinsky, Chairman of the Commission of the Russian State Duma on Regulations and Organisation of State Duma Activities and General Secretary of the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU), and Makhmadshokh Gulzoda, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Public Associations, and Information of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan. The meeting, held today in Dushanbe at the Parliament of Tajikistan, was also attended by other deputies of the Tajik Parliament: Orip Amirsoda, Chairman of the Environmental Commission; Naima Solizoda, member of the Commission on Deputy Ethics; Karakhon Chillazoda, Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan; and Margarita Usova, Deputy General Secretary of the GCTU.
