Older workers and social partnership: GCTU presents reports at the IFPSSW Council meeting in Tashkent
On September 29, Tashkent hosted a meeting of the Council of the International Federation of Public Service and Sector Workers' Unions (IFPSSW). The General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU) presented two reports at the event: “Key Directions of Social Policy Regarding Older-Generation Workers in the CIS Member States” and “On Improving the System of Social Partnership in the Commonwealth of Independent States.”
Regina Khairullina, Principal Specialist of the GCTU Legal Department, presented the Confederation's recommendations on social support for older workers and spoke about the development of social partnership across the Commonwealth.
Leaders of the federation's member organisations reported on their work from June to September 2026. The IFPSSW's information activities were discussed separately.
At the meeting, the IFPSSW diploma was awarded to the Trade Union of State, Municipal Institutions and Public Service Employees of the Kyrgyz Republic, which was recognised for achieving the best results in membership growth in 2025. The diploma was presented to Kubanychbek Namazov, Chair of the union's Central Committee.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin Presents the Order of Honour to Viktor Pinsky
Viktor Pinsky, a member of the Russian State Duma and General Secretary of the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU), has been awarded the Order of Honour. The award was presented by Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.
"My sincere congratulations! I am glad that your work has been duly recognised by the country's leadership," Vladimir Putin said as he presented the award to Viktor Pinsky.
The ceremony took place today in the St George's Hall of the Kremlin in Moscow.

On October 8, Moscow hosted the ninth meeting of the Advisory Committee on Social Security, Pension Rights, Medical Care, and Professional Activities of Workers of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states, held at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
