A unified registry of collective agreements in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will enable the regulation of labor relations at a cross-border level, according to the General Confederation of Trade Unions. The proposal by GCTU to include the creation of such a registry in the draft Plan of Activities for the Year of Social Development and Quality of Life in the CIS was approved by participants of the working group of the Advisory Council on Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Population of the CIS Member States. The working group meeting took place today at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk, using video conferencing.

A discussion on this topic is planned for the upcoming meeting of the Advisory Council on Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Population of the CIS Member States. Representatives of national social partnership bodies from CIS countries, as well as heads of international sectoral trade union and employer associations, will be invited to participate. If the initiative is supported, a mechanism for systematizing and providing open access to data on labor guarantees will be created. This will improve transparency in labor relations and strengthen interstate cooperation in protecting workers' rights.

During the meeting, working group members also supported another GCTU proposal: to develop a special international educational program on managing digital transformation in the socio-labor sphere for members of national and sectoral tripartite commissions regulating socio-labor relations in CIS countries.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Tajikistan, the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member States, the General Confederation of Trade Unions, the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS, the Coordinating Council of the International Union Commonwealth of Public Organizations of Veterans (Pensioners) of Independent States, the Base Organization of CIS Member States for Methodological and Organizational-Technical Support in Labor Normation (Scientific Research Institute of Labor of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus), the Base Organization of CIS Member States for Training, Retraining, and Advanced Training in Labor Normation (Belarusian National Technical University), and the Base Organization of CIS Member States in the Field of Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (Federal State Budgetary Institution Federal Scientific and Educational Center for Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation named after G.A. Albrecht of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation).

The next meeting of the working group is scheduled for September 2026.
